What is the best way to learn Spanish?

Hey! I already speak French fluently and have some experience in learning Spanish, but I’m looking for a way to really learn it, so that I can go to South America and live there for a while. I know that the best way to learn would be to just go there, but the jobs I will be applying for require some level of fluency, so I need to be prepared beforehand. Any ideas? Some people have suggested watching movies and learning songs by heart. Has this worked for anyone?

learn the curse words and songs first and have a friend teach you some stuff, and travel to a Spanish country with a friend who can speak good spanish and you’ll start catching on

    Simple method:
    - Vocabulary (memorize 4000 words) it’s easy for you since you speak French
    - Know how to use grammar,
    - Listen to lots of audio
Check this site, it has vocabulary, grammar and audio lessons:

As a student currently in my 5th year of spanish, id say the best way to learn is to have an overall understanding of all the verb tenses first (so you know whether someone has done something, is doing something, will do something), then know all the noun vocabulary that you would need to know for travelling (dont wanna get lost) and asking questions (so you can easily learn first-hand). also, think of all the little things you say all the time, like-ok, alright, sure, thanks, no problem, thats cool, that sucks… all the things that dont mean much but you say to keep a conversation going. that way you wont have to give people the silent treatment after they say something to you that you may not have an eloquent response for.

also, if theres something you really like; cooking, sports, music, history, whatever… know your vocab for that. that way theres always the opportunity for an interesting conversation if you meet someone with similar interests.

Memorizing songs does really help, because it helps you put words to the emotions conveyed in the song. Never worked for me cuz im not really into spanish or latin music.

Well, if you want to really develop a fluent spanish (assuming, of course, that you already fully understand spanish grammar, spelling, verb tenses, etc.) you might want to get in contact and spend some time just conversating (in spanish, of course) about every-day topics with a native speaker, and allow him to correct you and to teach you spanish common expressions. This can also improve your pronunciation and increase your vocabulary. However, if you cannot find a native speaker a non-native speaker will serve as well.
Also, whoever gave you the advise of watcing movies and TV shows in spanish was right. It is a really good way to develop fluency and also it might be useful that the movie or TV show displays english subtitles so you can check on words you dont know, common expressions (and actually learn them) and to be aware of vulgar words or expressions. However, songs may not be as useful because, as in english, some songs contain incorrectly structured sentences and words that are only used among certain communities or cultures; And remember that to develop fluencyb you must NOT structure a phrase in english in your mind and then translate it. You HAVE to structure the phrase in spanish and actually THINK in spanish.
Good luck in South America! :)
